The range of High Performance
seals developed by NAK provides the customer with a range of sealing
solutions to meet their demands and no longer make the seal a limiting
factor in the customer's design.

Designed initially for
use in performance Motorsport applications such as Formula 1, GT racing,
World Rally, through investment in 1997 in Race-Tec NAK a company already
specialising in this field. These seals have been designed with
performance in mind and have become the seals of many World Champions
since. The technology is now used in the design of mainstream automotive
and industrial applications where the product benefits can provide the
customer with a reliable solution to a performance seal problem.

demands of the world-wide motorsport industry, Race-Tec has designed and

Having recognised the
need to maintain fast product development for this market, and the

joined forces with Mao Shun Oil Seals (NAK) to form Race-Tec NAK Ltd.

running and breakout friction, compact size, and therefore reduced weight,

for an industrial electric motor, improved efficiency with a saving in
energy consumption, and possible design changes reducing manufacture
costs.

PTFE Lined (PL) Seal Range
The Race-Tec NAK PTFE
Lined (PL) seal range is a state of the art sealing technology that can be
easily adapted to suit most seal styles and application conditions. It has
been developed to seal efficiently while minimising friction losses and
improving durability.
A layer of low friction
PTFE, the same base material as Teflonâ , is bonded during the
manufacturing process to an elastomer lip base. This surface forms the
contact point with the shaft typically 0.2 to 0.7mm, this compared to
other PTFE seal technologies which could be as much as 5 times greater.
The running friction, and
more importantly, the breakout friction, can be reduced by over 40%
compared to conventional seal technology. Other factors such as excellent
chemical resistance, suitability for food and pharmaceutical environments,
dry running ability and wide temperature range make it possible to provide
a flexible and versatile package designed to suit your needs.

for use in industrial, automotive and agricultural applications
